I know right? Big prices! You won’t see me tipping Dustin Johnson at a single figure price. I’m all about finding the value and whilst it’s unlikely any of these will win this week, with extra places for EW bets I think they are all worth a small stake.
I keep my stakes low. Other golf tipsters are recommending anywhere between 15pts – 25pts for their outright tips. Mine adds up to 4.5! After all, responsible gambling is important, is it not?
Enough bollocks, onto the tips. I had to include Harris English. He’s playing great. Am I excited by 66/1? Not really. But his stats suggest he has every chance this week. 6th in Scrambling, 9th in Greens in Regulation, 9th in Scoring Average (2019/20 season). Very few, if any, can match those.
Open and honest ❤️

Martin Kaymer could easily be rocking up in New York with back to back wins under his belt. But he choked them both. Perhaps so little is expected of him this week the pressure might be off. I actually felt a little sorry for him at Valderrama, until I remember I’d tipped Catlin at 140/1.
Kaymer is a US Open champion. He won that major by 8 shots. Add a US PGA and a Players Championship on top of that and he’s World Class, or at least he was. I think 125/1 on his recent form is generous.
3 American’s up next. Brian Harman, Kevin Streelman and Chez Reavie. All in good form and all 3 have had a decent finish in this Major. Harman was runner up in the 2017 US Open. He finished T12 & T11 in the last 2 playoff events and a course where short game is key, his top 10 rank for Scrambling caught my attention.
Streelman landed us a small payout on Sunday finishing T3 in the Safeway Open. Add to that a couple of runner up finishes in 2020 and it’s been a very good year. The last time he played a US Open, scoring was tough at Oakmont, but Streelman finished T13.
Reavie was T3 last year at Pebble Beach. He was also T16 in the 2017 US Open. He finished strongly last week at Silverado to finish T3. He’s straight off the tee, a decent iron player and has a solid short game. He may well find Winged Foot to his liking this week.
CHEZ! After an impressive top 3 finish at the US Open last week, Scottsdale resident and former Sun Devil Chez Reavie grabbed his 2nd PGA Tour win today at @TravelersChamp. His first win since ‘08. pic.twitter.com/tbYliZ4kjB

Thomas Pieters has performed admirably in US Majors when given the opportunity. T4 at Augusta in the 2017 and T6 in the US PGA a year later. He arrives with a couple of solid performances at Celtic Manor including a T3. I’m surprised he’s 200/1.
Finally my standard bet on Steve Stricker in a major. I’m a bit embarrassed to put him up to be honest, but with 9 places and 500/1 it was too tempting. He’s been playing well on the Champions Tour and when Winged Foot last held the US Open, Stricker finished T6 and was the 36 hole leader #justsaying
